FAQ

Q. Is there any difference between traditional counseling and analyzing my tribe?

A. You will certainly look at the role that your relationships have on your mental well-being, but I would argue that you won’t start with your tribe and you won’t give it as much weight as we will in our work together.

Q. Is there a place for individual, traditional counseling?

A. Yes!! I’ve come across certain clients throughout my career that needed to explore past histories and they needed to get through past traumas in order to be mindful, in the here and now, and ready to get into solutions-focused mode. I can see people looking for that approach on Talkspace.

Q. How will I know if I need traditional counseling or more consulting/coaching for my tribe?

A. We can certainly explore that right along with whether we are a good fit. Since the therapeutic rapport is everything, it’s important that we are a good match and that we are able to accomplish what you need in order to have your behaviors in alignment with your values.

Q. Is there a population that benefits more from this approach?

A. Not necessarily. Everyone is uniquely different, and therapy and/or consulting will never be a one size fits all. Sometimes it completely transforms someone’s life. Sometimes it fails miserably.

Q. How long does it take to feel changes?

A. Totally depends on the person. I’ve seen significant change in a couple of weeks. I’ve also seen complete transformations take a year or two. It’s totally dependent on people’s willingness to take a different route and our connection along the way.

Q. How will I know that what we are doing is creating change?

A. That’s the best part about this approach. You’ll be able to see the results in your tribe.

Q. What if I don’t want individual sessions, but I just want to be part of a group that is doing great things?

A. We can definitely talk about participation in our forum without a 1:1 session.

Q. Can I expect curriculum?

A. That’s currently in the works. I want to be able to give everyone the same assessment, the same analysis, and then know exactly where we are headed.

Q. Can I just ask questions as they come up rather than schedule a 1:1 or jump into a forum?

A. Absolutely. Follow me on IG, FB, and Twitter to just ask some questions.

Q. I want to see you live. Where can I access those videos?

A. Eventually on YouTube. I’m just too new in the game to have that option yet.
